Maxine Andersen's Obituary
Racine - Maxine F. Andersen (nee: Wood), 85, went to be with her blessed Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Harbor House North in Kenosha. She was born in Pe El, Washington, on Dec. 23, 1923 to the late Hemp and Essie (Nee: Raper) Wood. She was united in marriage to Robert K. Andersen in San Francisco, on March 23, 1946 and they moved to Racine in 1947.
Maxine was an active member of Kenosha First Assembly of God, and was one of the original organizers of the Lutheran High School Thrift Shop. She was a talented seamstress and a devout Christian, always putting God and family first in her life.
Maxine will be dearly missed by her husband, three children, Michael (Sharon) Andersen of Mundelein, IL, Susan Ashton of Oshkosh, Judith Barski of Racine, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two sisters, Sybil (John) Osler, Wanda Taylor, and special friends, Walter and Lucille Sorensen of Racine.
Funeral services will be held at Kenosha First Assembly of God Church on Sunday, December 27, 2009 at 5 pm with Rev. Dan Remus officiating. Private interment will be held at South WI Veteran Memorial Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family at the church from 3 pm until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Alzheimer's Association have been suggested.
