Maureen Ann Jacox's Obituary
Racine – Maureen Ann Jacox, 78, passed away on June 20, 2024, in Mukwonago, Wisconsin.
Maureen was born to the late George and Dorothy (nee Peterson) Abbas on July 21, 1945, in Camp Douglas, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to Albert “Al” G. Jacox in Racine on July 11, 1964. They were married for 54 years until Albert’s passing in June of 2019. Maureen worked as the head cashier at Target in Racine for 29 years.
Maureen was a kindhearted and vibrant soul who brought joy to everyone around her. She was a devoted wife to her loving husband, Al, with whom she shared many wonderful memories. Together, they enjoyed bowling with their close friends, Bob and Lahn, creating cherished moments that will be remembered forever. A true social butterfly, Maureen and Al loved spending time with their best friends and neighbors, Tom (deceased) and Donna Hetland. Together they often ventured to casinos. Maureen's passion for life extended to her cherished family farm in Camp Douglas, Wisconsin, where she found peace and happiness.
Family was the cornerstone of Maureen's life. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, ensuring her "girls" were always kept busy with love and activities. Her breakfasts with her good friend Karen Eastman were a treasured routine. Maureen was an avid sports fan, cheering passionately for the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. Maureen was deadly accurate with a plastic spoon, something her sons, Mark and Chris, will never forget.
Maureen will be deeply missed by her children: Mark (Veronica) Jacox, Christopher (Misty) Jacox, Tina Jacox, and Robin Jacox; grandchildren: Kristina Thurmann, Cloey Jacox, and Donavin Jacox; brothers: Dale Abbas and Vern Abbas; many special nieces and nephews; along with several other relatives and friends.
Maureen was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Jacox; sisters: Diane Raveling and Elaine Anderson; and nephew, Todd Abbas.
A celebration of Maureen’s life will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Private inurnment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park.
