MaryAnn Rose Cikel's Obituary
Mount Pleasant - MaryAnn Rose Cikel, 89, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 21, 2018 at her residence.
MaryAnn was born on September 16, 1928, in Racine, to the late Peter and Malvina (nee: Cseri) Habetler. MaryAnn was united in marriage to Edwin Cikel on August 20, 1977 in Las Vegas, NV. Edwin preceded her in death on January 6, 2014.
MaryAnn was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. One of her favorite activities was traveling, which she did a tremendous amount of with her husband, Edwin. Edwin and MaryAnn went to Hawaii six times, as well as taking trips out west. MaryAnn had a kind heart, especially when visiting with the elderly in nursing homes. She took the most interest in her family. MaryAnn enjoyed spending time with her nieces, who she treated as her own children.
MaryAnn is survived by her brother, Joseph Habetler; two special nieces: Kathleen (James) Talsma and Debra (Kerry Fraser) Danoski; special nephew by marriage, Jerald Paupore; as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
MaryAnn is preceded in death by her sisters: Pauline Mittl and Ann Danoski; her brothers: Peter Habetler and Frank Habetler; and her nephews: David Mittl, Robert Habetler, and John Danoski.
A celebration of MaryAnn’s life will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home (1212 Lathrop Ave) on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 1:30 pm with Father Steve Varghese officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the Wilson Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service.
