Mary Hanson's Obituary
Racine - Mrs. Mary G. Hanson, 64, passed way on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - All Saints after a strong courageous five-year battle with cancer.
Mary was born in Milwaukee to the late Nicholas and Natalie (nee: Viertel) Grellinger on August 8, 1945. She lived in Racine for most of her life. In Racine, she was united in marriage to Ronald L. Hanson on January 12, 1963.
Mrs. Hanson was employed at Surgitek for 17 years. She owned and operated a pet grooming business for ten years and enjoyed caring for many animals. She retired in 2001. She was a hometown sports fan especially the Packers and Brewers. She also had fun going to festivals. Her favorite hobby was to be outside in her yard gardening.
Mary will be sadly missed by her children, Scott (Elizabeth) Hanson, Cheryl (Ed Maresh) Hanson, and Jo-El Hanson; five grandchildren, Natalie, Elijah, Jacquelyn, Rebecca, and Angelina; one brother, Harold Grellinger; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; father-in-law, Raymond McCarthy; and brother-in-law, Robert Hanson.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hanson will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Southern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 pm and on Thursday morning from 9:30 am until service time. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
