Marvin Lee "Red" Parks' Obituary
Marvin Lee “Red” Parks passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017.
On December 26, 1944, Red was born to Richard and Mildred (nee Brown) Parks in Shell Lake, WI. Red was married to Dorothy Parks (nee Miller) for 40 years. He worked as a foreman at Harris Metals for 36 years.
Red enjoyed riding Harley Davidsons for many years. He had a passion for restoring old cars and attending car shows. Red enjoyed going up north to hunt and spend time with family. He traveled extensively around the country in his motor home. Red enjoyed watching the Packers and NASCAR, flying Hobby helicopters, and ham radio. He had extreme integrity and was an incredible handyman. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Red loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters: Cynthia (Thomas) Clark and Lisa (Ernest) Grice, along with their mother, Dorothy Parks; grandchildren: Alexa (Jose) Pulido, Nicole (David) Schmidt, Dylan Clark, Madisyn Larsen, and Layla, Lowden, and Landen Grice; great-grandchild, Cameron Schmidt; sister, Sandra (Thomas) Schneider; sister-in-law, Patricia Parks, and nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends.
Red is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mildred Parks; sister, Joyce Parks; brothers: Robert Parks and Eugene “Turk” Parks; great-niece, Jessica Witt; and sister-in-law, Florine DeMoe.
Friends and family may gather for a time of visitation at Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A celebration of Red’s life will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, July 28, 2017.
