Martha Ballantyne's Obituary
Martha Ballantyne, 85, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Mt. Carmel Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Burlington. She was born on April 27, 1922 to the late A. Charles and Emma Irene (nee: Hartsough) Tree. She was united in marriage to William Ballantyne on Nov. 21, 1940 in Racine. She lived in the Racine area until her retirement.
She was a partner in Tree Machine Tool Co. for many years. She was a past member of Calvary Memorial Church and was deeply involved with many activities there. She enjoyed spending her retirement living in Door County, Florida, and finally in Waterford.
She is survived by her husband, William Ballantyne; children, Thomas, Tad (Rachel Jensen), John (Diana Martinez) all of Racine, and Susan (Peter) Betts of Waterford; grandchildren, Becky (Steve) Gehrig, Scott (Suzanne) Ballantyne, Margaret Ballantyne, Emily Bencriscutto, Julie (Troy) Kirchner, Drew Ballantyne, Ian Ballantyne; great-grandchildren, Sage, Sophia, Jennifer, Christine; great-great-granddaughter, Amy; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
In accordance with Martha's wishes, a private Memorial service was held. Pastor Jim Rasmus of Norway Lutheran Church officiated. Memorials to the Norway Lutheran Food Pantry have been suggested.
