Marlene Joyce Schmidt's Obituary
Marlene Joyce Schmidt, age 74, of Racine, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 4, 2025.
Marlene was born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 15, 1951, to the late Billy Jack and Jean (née Davidson) Woodward. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Randy Schmidt, on November 22, 1975, in Union Grove, Wisconsin. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Marlene worked for Racine Unified School District for 25 years as a teacher’s aide, where she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues with her kindness, patience, and generous spirit.
In her free time, Marlene enjoyed spending time with Randy at Camp Delton Club in Lake Delton, and the Gulf Crest Mobile Home Park in Seminole, Florida, two of her favorite places to relax and enjoy life. She loved playing the slot machines at the casino, singing and dancing, and cheering on her beloved Green Bay Packers. Known for her warm hugs and vibrant personality, Marlene had a gift for making everyone around her feel loved.
Above all, Marlene adored her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 50 years, Randy Schmidt; her children: Janel (John) Clausen and Michael Schmidt; her grandchildren: Joel, Jeremy, Justin, Jackson, Michael Jr., and Kaylie; and her brother David (Debbie) Woodward.
Marlene was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Nichols.
