Marjorie "Margie" Elaine Sorenson's Obituary
Marjorie “Margie” Elaine Sorenson, age 83, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on March 6, 1942, in Racine, Margie was the cherished daughter of the late Albert and Esther (nee Nelson) Kusters. She grew up in Racine and remained deeply connected to the community throughout her life.
On July 25, 1959, Margie was united in marriage to the love of her life, David Leo Sorenson, at St. Edward Catholic Church. Together they shared many years of love and companionship before his passing on November 14, 2014.
Margie’s children were the greatest joy and most important part of her life. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family and extended that love to many others by fostering children for many years, offering care, stability, and compassion to those in need. Margie was known for her wonderful smile and infectious laugh. Her home was filled with singing and music, and always open, warm and welcoming.
A true social butterfly, Margie thrived on gatherings with family and friends. Whether hosting holidays, attending celebrations, or simply enjoying conversation over coffee, she treasured every opportunity to connect. Margie also had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dogs and the many pets she cared for over the years.
She will be dearly missed by her children: David (Michele) Sorenson, Robert (MariBeth) Sorenson, Theresa (Michael) Mooney, Michele (Patrick) Marsolek, Ryan Sorenson, and Marcus Sorenson. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Joseph Hutchinson, Jennifer Sorenson, Kenneth Sorenson, Michael Sorenson, Patrick (Morgan) Timler, Timothy Timler, Jessica (Thomas) Maguire, Tiffany (Shane) Arrollado, Dillon (Alex) Hettrick, Miranda Timler, Amanda (Max) Soeth, and Savannah Sorenson; 14 great-grandchildren; her sister Sherry (Mel) Wifler, as well as many other dear friends and extended family members.
Margie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Sorenson; her son, Glenn “Guy” Sorenson; and her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Veronica Kusters.
A visitation will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M., with a service to follow.
Margie’s legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
