Marjorie Helene Galbraith's Obituary
Marjorie Helene (nee Hovorka) Galbraith, age 91, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2017 at Ascension All Saints Hospital, Racine, WI.
On March 19, 1926, in Neillsville, WI, Marjorie was born to John and Agnes (nee Schroeder) Hovorka. She was united in marriage to Kenneth E. Galbraith on October 19, 1946 in Racine. Kenneth preceded her in death on October 16, 2004. Marjorie was employed as a manager in the millenary department of Zahn’s, a payroll clerk at Modine, and as a teacher at Jack and Jill Preschool.
Marjorie was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church. She was an excellent piano player and a wonderful cook. Above all, Marjorie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Patti Brack and Kathy Vachalik; her grandson, Matthew (Lyn) Vachalik, her granddaughters: Ann Marie (Patrick) Coover and Ashley Brack; her great-grandchildren: Mikayla, McKenzie, Savannah, Ava, Lucy, Wyatt, and March, and many other relatives and friends.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; her brothers: Bob Hovorka and Dick Hovorka, her sisters: Marie Sficos and Alice Sheean, and her son-in-law, Michael Vachalik.
Funeral Services for Marjorie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 7, 2017, at Holy Communion Lutheran Church (2000 W 6th St, Racine). A visitation will be held at the church on Friday, July 7, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family has suggested that memorials to Holy Communion Lutheran Church be made in Marjorie’s name.
