Marie Pearle Karsnick's Obituary
Mt. Pleasant-Mrs. Marie (nee Brown) Karsnick, 81, passed away April 26, 2021 from cancer at her residence surrounded by her daughters. She was born on June 16, 1939 in Caribou, Maine, the daughter of late Ralph and Leona Brown. She loved reading murder mysteries and could easily detect “whodunit” before anyone else, she enjoyed dancing with the love of her life, “Honey”, and going to theater productions with Carol. Marie’s career was with RUSD, mostly at Mitchell Elementary and Olympia Brown, psychology department. Marie gave so much time and love to her grandchildren and great grandchildren by starting Christmas traditions of baking and frosting sugar cookies and teaching her expertise of sewing, crocheting, and crafting.
Marie is survived by her husband, Kenneth J. Karsnick; sister, Petie (Pat) Noble; three brothers: Ron (Marie) Brown, Richard (Pamey) Brown and Stanley (Jane) Brown; two daughters, Terry (Tim) Meyer and Leslie (Kirk) Gain; three stepchildren: Kris (Richard) Rozran, Jan (Matthew) Sullivan, Gregg (Yuko) Karsnick and her dear friend and neighbor, Carol Hegmann. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren: Tim (Hiya Christensen) Meyer and Michael and Tim; Andrew (Barb) Meyer, Ethan, Emilie, and Gavin; Stephanie (John) Putnam, Nathan, Natalie, and Naomi; Erica (Anthony) Epperson, Dylan, and Owen; Jon Gain and Jayden; Brad Rozran; Lindsey (Kemp Collings) Rozran; Ryan (Amy) Sullivan, Grant, and Cate; Shannon Gamble and Shanyia; Colin Sullivan; her beloved cats: Mama and Muffin as well as other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her close friend, Marie Knudsen and her mother, Leona Brown.
Visitation will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 4:30 PM. A private committal service will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 700 English Street, Racine, WI 53402, Cops N Kids Reading Center, 800 Villa Street, Racine, WI 53403, or the American Cancer Society.
