Marian Buska's Obituary
Racine – Mrs. Marian Joyce Buska, 84, passed away at Home Harbor on Saturday, February 9, 2013.
Marian was born in Racine to the late Howard Sr. and Elizabeth (nee: Brietzke) Johnson on February 28, 1928 and had been a life time resident. In Racine, she was united in marriage to Bernard Carl Buska on February 28, 1955. He preceded her in death on August 13, 1967.
Mrs. Buska was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Wednesday Optimist Club - YWCA. She was a graduate of Washington Park High School, class of 1946. Mrs. Buska attended the University of Wisconsin and the University of Baltimore. Mrs. Buska was a nurse from 1950 to 2001 when she retired. She was also the YWCA Camp Anokijig nurse for three months between 1969 and 1977.
Marian will be dearly missed by her sons, Kevin (Linda) of Racine, Keith (Donna) of Racine, Dr. Kurt (Diane) and their son, Kent Bradley Buska of St. Croix – U.S. Virgin Islands; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marian was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Fox; her brother, Howard J. Johnson Jr. and a very special friend of 27 years, William B. Struss.
Funeral services in honor of Mrs. Buska will be held at the Atonement Lutheran Church on Saturday morning, February 16, 2013 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel. Relatives and friends my meet with the family at the Wilson Funeral Home on Friday evening, February 15, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Memorials may be directed to Atonement Lutheran Church or Camp Anokijig.
