Maria E. Baez's Obituary
RACINE – Maria E. Baez, age 62, passed away peacefully at her home on July 4, 2026, with her family by her side.
Maria was born on June 24, 1964, in Buenavista, Michoacán de Ocampo, Mexico, to Maximiliano Baez Zepeda and Maria Del Carmen Ochoa Guillen. On July 30, 1982, she was united in marriage to Jesus Cabrera Lopez in Crucero de Catalinas División del Norte, Michoacán, Mexico. Together, they built a loving family and shared many cherished years until his passing on June 24, 1992.
Maria was employed by Reliance Controls Corporation and Warren Industries before retiring from Milaeger’s in 2015, where she enjoyed tending to plants in the greenhouse.
Maria was a woman of immense talent and imagination who poured her heart into her hobbies. She greatly enjoyed crafting handmade jewelry, crocheting delicate tablecloths, weaving macramé flowerpot holders, and shaping her signature beaded wire "Tree of Life" sculptures. Outside of crafting, she loved tending to her garden and taking on home improvement projects. Yet, nothing brought Maria greater happiness than her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Maria will be lovingly remembered by her children: Adriana Cabrera and her husband Agustin Mejia; Estela Yameogo and her husband Hamine Yameogo; Jesus Cabrera; and Flor Cabrera and her husband Jaime Mora. Her legacy of love lives on through her eight cherished grandchildren, her dear siblings, and a large, devoted circle of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and lifelong friends.
Maria is now reunited in peace with her beloved husband, Jesus Cabrera Lopez, and her parents, Maximiliano Baez Zepeda and Maria Del Carmen Ochoa Guillen, who preceded her in death.
A celebration of Maria’s life will be held at Wilson Funeral Home, 1212 Lathrop Avenue, Racine, Wisconsin 53405, on Friday, July 10, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Catholic prayer service at 12:00 p.m. A service of committal will take place afterward at Mound Cemetery in Racine.
The family invites those who knew and loved Maria to share their condolences, memories, and stories in the guestbook of this tribute page.
Her kindness, creativity, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
