Margaret Rasmussen's Obituary
Racine - Mrs. Margaret L. Rasmussen (nee: Woodward), 90, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare on Tuesday January 15, 2008.
Margaret Rasmussen was born to the late Richard and Hannah (nee: Hansen) Woodward in Kenosha County on March 23, 1917. She was united in marriage to Nels Rasmussen in Racine on March 19, 1938. He preceded her death on June 18, 1994. Margaret lived in Racine most of her life.
Mrs. Rasmussen was a member of Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Ladies Guild. Margaret had a big heart. She was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to travel and golf and most importantly she loved being with her family.
Margaret is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara (Ronald) Andersen of Stuart, Florida and Carolyn (David) Pietsch of Racine; six grandchildren, Sally (Michael) Hellyer and Mark (Robin) Andersen all living in Florida, Todd (Julie) Taleck of Racine, Brad (Cindy) Andersen of Rochester, Minnesota, Scott (Dianna) Taleck and Shawn (Troy) Madore all of Racine; nine great-grandchildren, Shannon, Mackenzie, Ashton, Samantha, Christopher, Megan, Jaclyn, Amanda and Ethan; two brothers-in-law, Frank Holbus and Wally Singstock; and two best friends, Edna Clausen and Pearl Coffeey. Margaret is also preceded in death by one great-grandson, Justin Madore; one sister and brother-in-law, Helen (Art) Ludvisgen; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, George (Hazel) Woodward and Glen (Florence) Woodward.
Memorial Services will be held at Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 12 p.m. with Rev. Michael Zolnosky officiating. Private inurnment will be held at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Saturday morning at the Church from 11a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church.
