Marceline J. Turkowski's Obituary
Racine - Mrs. Marceline “Mickey” Turkowski passed away peacefully at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - All Saints on May 29, 2016 surrounded by family.
Marceline was born in Racine on April 11, 1928 to Richard and Leone (nee: Johnson) Tobin. Mrs. Turkowski was a 23-year Racine County employee, serving as a Court Bailiff for 10 years, and was a former clerk of the Village of Elmwood Park. Mickey was an avid gardener, golfer, bowler, and cook. She enjoyed hosting two bridge clubs, volunteering at St. Edward’s Friday Night Bingo and Funeral Honor Guard. Mickey’s 11 children, 20 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren were greatly loved by her.
Mickey is survived by her children; Kristine (Joseph) Patrenets, Henry (Diane) Turkowski, Steven (Cheryl) Turkowski, James Turkowski, Michael Turkowski, Marya Turkowski (Russ) all of Racine, John Turkowski (Rose), and Linda (Derek) Morehart of Milton, Kathleen McCord of Neenah, and Thomas Turkowski of Oak Creek; grandchildren, Michael (Lisa) Patrenets, Melissa (Alessandro) Dal Vecchio, Amy Turkowski, Erin (Javier) Luna-Blanco, Kevin (Patricia) Turkowski, Caitlin Turkowski, Tiffany, Mauria, and Cara Turkowski, Sarah McCord, Jacob, Victor, Kyle Turkowski, Noah Turkowski, Adam, Jeremy, Carlee, and Madalyn Homan, Nolan and Holly Morehart; great grandchildren, Kylie and Taylor Turkowski, Alessio and Lorenzo Dal Vecchio and Violet Luna-Blanco; stepsister, Mary Neu; stepbrothers, Anthony Rondone and Thomas (Maureen) Lizdas; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Turkowski; son-in-law, Joseph McCord; sisters, Delores Christensen and Suzanne Hutchens; stepfather, Edward Lizdas; and stepbrother, Martin Rondone.
Mickey was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM with visitation starting at 10:00 AM. There will also be an evening visitation at Wilson Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM. Suggested memorials in Marceline’s honor may be directed to St. Edward’s Catholic Church.
The family would like to thank Sherman and the staff at Timber Oaks, Mary and Emily of Wheaton Franciscan Home Hospice, and the excellent nurses on the 4th floor of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - All Saints for their compassionate care of Mom.
