Madeline Louise Frankenberger's Obituary
Madeline L. Frankenberger, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother. and friend, passed away on May 3, 2024, at Ascension Hospital in Racine, surrounded by her loving family.
Madline was born to the late Robert and Norma (Brinker) Aurand on October 27, 1949, in Rockford, Illinois. In her journey through life, Madeline found her soulmate in Jerry Frankenberger, whom she married in Racine, and together they shared over three decades of love and companionship.
Madeline was born a woman of many talents and passions. She possessed a creative spirit that manifested itself in her love for crafting handmade gifts for her family, as well as in her passion for collecting and restoring antiques. Her home was a reflection of her artistic sensibilities, adorned with treasures lovingly created and curated over the years.
Beyond her creative pursuits, Madeline found joy in tending to her garden and transforming her yard into a vibrant oasis of beauty. Madeline delighted in the art of cooking, often collaborating with her son Jamie and granddaughter Misty in the kitchen. Their shared love for creating delicious meals brought them closer together and created cherished memories that will be treasured by her family for years to come.
Madeline's strength and resilience were evident throughout her life, especially during her battle with illness. Despite facing adversity, she remained steadfast in her determination to care for her family, embodying the true essence of courage and perseverance.
Madeline had a deep affection for animals and devoted herself to rescuing cats and dogs in need. In her home, she lovingly cared for her four cats and two dogs.
Above all else, Madeline cherished the time she spent with her family. Whether gathered around the dinner table, working in the garden, or simply sharing stories and laughter, her presence brought warmth and joy to those fortunate enough to know her.
Madline will be dearly missed by her husband, Jerry Frankenberger; children: Jason (Christine) Vollendorf, Jamie Frankenberger, Jordan Frankenberger and Josh (Petra) Vollendorf; grandchildren: Misty Vollendorf, Abby Kopecky, Amanda Crago, Hannah Vollendorf, Dylan (Ashleigh) Kovacik, Natalie Vollendorf, Nikolas (Morgan) Contreras, Thalia Contreras, Tatiana Contreras, and Miguel (Gloria) Contreras; great granddaughter Maia Contrares; brother Kim (Charon) Aurand; as well as many other friends and family.
Madeline was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Barry Aurand.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the ICU staff at Ascension, especially nurse Wendy for her loving and compassionate care.

A celebration of life for Madeline will be held on May 16th at 6 pm, at Racine Bible Church,12505 Spring Street, Sturtevant, WI. The service will be followed by a reception featuring some of Maddy's favorite dishes.
