Lucile A. Thomsen's Obituary
Racine – Lucile A. Thomsen, 97, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 17, 2016.
Lucile was born in Racine to the late Carl and Anna (nee: Jespersen) Klingberg on October 8, 1918. She was raised in a home that her grandfather build out in the cow pastures in the country off of Howe Avenue. In 1923, their family moved to Spring Street. Lucile was united in marriage to Peter C. Thomsen on November 20, 1941. He preceded her in death after 66 years of marriage on June 4, 2008.
Lucile was a faithful member of Calvary Memorial Church. She was active in Bible Study, and teaching Sunday Bible School at the church. Lucile was employed by Jacobsen Manufacturing for 15 years and retired in 1982. After her retirement, she and her husband enjoyed fishing together. It was important to Lucile to spend much of her time caring for her family.
Lucile will be dearly missed by her son, John (Sally) Thomsen and her grandchildren, Rachel and Anna Thomsen; her daughter, Shirley Thomsen; and other relatives and friends, especially from the church. Lucile was also preceded in death by her infant son, Peter in 1948; and two sisters, Grace Plude and Alice Klingberg.
A ceremony celebrating Lucile’s life will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon, March 22, 2016 at 1:30 PM with Pastor Nathan James officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM. Memorials to Calvary Memorial Church have been suggested.
