Lowell Edward Jensen's Obituary
Racine – Lowell Edward Jensen, 88, passed away on June 8, 2014 at Harmony Living Center.
Lowell was born in Racine on May 2, 1926 to Sidney J. Jensen and Esther Marie Victoria (nee: Anderson) Jensen. Lowell married Marie Atkins on December 27, 1947 at Bethany Lutheran Church of Sigel, Wisconsin.
Lowell proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He later worked for Famco Machine Co. where he was the Vice President of Engineering and retired as such at Precise Corporation in 1991. Lowell was an active member of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer for over 50 years. He also enjoyed traveling, woodworking, playing Bridge and he took great pride in caring for his home and yard.
Lowell is survived his wife, Marie Jensen; sons, Brian, Marcus (Cheryl) Jensen, Philip, grandsons; Zachary and Alan; his brother, Richard (Betty) Jensen; many nieces and nephews including Terry (Peggy) Jensen, Sally (Leonard) nee: Jensen-Gaines, also great-nephews; Lee Jensen and Eric Jensen, and by many other relatives and friends.
Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Esther Jensen and by one son, Steven Lowell Jensen.
Funeral Services for Lowell will be held at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 2417 Drexel Avenue on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 11:30 AM with Pastor Elias Nasari officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church from 10:30 AM until the time of service.
Food and refreshments will be served at 1:00 PM. Memorials may be directed to Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.
