Lovie Mae Hermann's Obituary
Mount Pleasant – Lovie Mae Hermann, 91, passed away at Ascension All Saints Hospital on Monday, January 16, 2023.
Lovie was born in Mount Clare, West Virginia to Chelsey and Ada (nee Parks) Burns on January 11, 1932. She served in the United States Army from July 25, 1951, until November 20, 1952. During this time, Lovie was united in marriage to Allen Christ Hermann on March 15, 1952.
The Rupe Homes employed Lovie for several years. She truly enjoyed caring for the residents, but it was not above giving loving care to her family. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were most important in her life. Lovie enjoyed traveling with family and friends throughout the United States and abroad. Some of her favorite trips were to California, Hawaii, and the United Kingdom. Lovie also enjoyed her casino trips, bingo, and playing a good game of cards. She especially loved listening to her country music.
Lovie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children: Joyce (Al) Sakkinen, Debbie (Roger) Schoeffler, Barb (Pete) Wren, Beverly (Larry) Fox, and Mark Hermann; grandchildren, Shane (Gretchen) Sakkinen, Brian (Katie) Niesen, Jeanna (Shane) Cates, Matt (Sadie) Schoeffler, Jennifer (Jose) Salcedo, Genevieve (JK) Saunders, and Matt (Alysha) Fox; great-grandchildren: Kellan Sakkinen, Chase McBain, Linc Niesen, Janessa Cates, Emersyn Lang, Noa Salcedo, William, Mitchel, and Marian Saunders, and Ayla, Rubee, Naomi, Zeke, Levi, Isaac, Eli, and Ezra Fox; sister, Linda (Lloyd) Miller; special friend, Mickey; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends, too many to mention.
Lovie was preceded in death by her husband, Allen on August 13, 1999; parents, Chelsey and Ada Burns; special friend, Adele; brothers and sisters, other relatives, and friends.
Per Lovie’s wishes, private family services were held. Military honors were presented, and inurnment took place at West Lawn Memorial Park. In Lovie’s name, donations may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. https://www.stjude.org/.
