Louis Noppe's Obituary
RACINE – Mr. Louis J. Noppe, Sr., 81, passed away at his home with his loving family at his side on Thursday, October 3, 2013.
Louis was born in Racine to the late Louis and Mary (nee: Vanhaverbeke) Noppe on March 3, 1932. In Racine at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, he was united in marriage to Kay Raguse on February 21, 1953. She preceded him in death on May 17, 2012.
Mr. Noppe is a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed by the Mount Pleasant Police Department for 23 years but his life was his business, Franksville Oil and LP Gas Company. Louis enjoyed spending time with his family at his cabin in Minocqua. His favorite pastime was fishing on his pontoon boat with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed planting and harvesting his large garden at home.
Mr. Noppe is father to Louis J. (Donna) Noppe, Jr., Debra Wadewitz, Victoria Pokrant and Jeri Sanders; grandfather to Shane (Mary) Wadewitz, Heather Davis, Adam Noppe, Katie Noppe, Richard Pokrant, Erin (Brett) Basley, Rachel (Kyle) Whitley and Kristin Sanders; great-grandfather to Tyler, Katie, Aleyna, Madelyn, Kallie and Savannah; uncle to Faith (Louis) Monty; and to his brothers-in-law Gordon Raguse and William Raguse. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Frank Noppe.
A memorial service will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, October 8, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Relatives and friends can meet with the family during visitation from 3:00 until the 7:00 p.m. service time. Mr. Noppe will be inurned at a private ceremony at West Lawn Memorial Park.
