Lotte Mackey's Obituary
Racine- Mrs. Lotte G. Mackey, 86, passed away on Friday, March 05, 2010 at WFH-All Saints.
Lotte was born in East Prussia, Germany on December 31, 1923 to the late Wilhelm and Milida (nee: Bira) Faige and came to the United States as a young girl. She then lived in Racine County for most of her life. She was united in marriage to Reginald Mackey on July 4, 1942 who preceded her in death on March 3, 2002.
Lotte and Reginald were Mink ranchers for a number of years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Union Grove and was an excellent artist who painted, made jewelry, and sold arts and crafts at church fairs. She enjoyed going out to the Casino, playing Bingo at Roma Lodge, and attending plays with her friends. She would often support her church and help out a soup kitchen in Milwaukee. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Lotte is survived by her daughter, Jean (Gilbert) Jensen of Kenosha; sons, John Mackey of Milwaukee and William (Cathy) Mackey of Beloit; two grandchildren, Karyne (Jim) Madden of Green Bay and Gilbert Glen Jensen III of Kenosha; three great-grandchildren Cory Jensen, Dana Madden, and Demitri Jensen; former daughter-in-law Cindy; Brother Gustav ("Toots") Faige, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends also survive.
Funeral Services for Lotte will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Union Grove (1610 Main St.) on Thursday March 11, 2010 at 10:00am with Pastor James F. Keuch. Interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday March 10, 2010 from 5 until 8pm and Thursday at the church from 9am until the time of service.
