Lorenz "Larry" Cook's Obituary
Racine – Lorenz “Larry” Cook, 66, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa.
Larry was born to Lewis and Apolonia (nee Stahl) Cook on July 8, 1957, in Aschaffenburg, Germany. He was married to his husband, Daniel Koepke, in 2003 at their farmhouse in Racine County. They spent 20 wonderful years together before Daniel’s passing on May 7, 2023.
Larry was operating president at Applied Steel Components for many years before retiring in 2023. Larry embraced his German heritage and loved cooking German food for his friends and family. He loved going outdoors and enjoying nature. Larry was an avid walker and walked many miles a day. His walks were a spiritual time for him. Larry was also a dog lover.
Larry will be dearly missed by his father, Lewis Cook; stepmom, Ute (nee Keller) Cook; stepchildren: Abby Koepke (Christopher Karnowski), Ericka Windsong, Donald Koepke (Brandon Ahler), and Amy Koepke; Aunt, Carolyn Langford; cousins: Barbara and Pamela Cook; in-laws: Deb and Pete Reesman, Bill and Heidi Koepke; mother-in-law, Laura Koepke; best friend, Greg St. Charles; as well as many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Apolonia Cook; his husband, Daniel Koepke; and father-in-law, Wayne Koepke.
A visitation for Larry will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 1:00 P.M., followed by a memorial service at 2:00 P.M.
