Loralie "Lory" Mae McCray's Obituary
Waterford – Loralie “Lory” Mae McCray, 81, passed away peacefully at her home on October 27, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.
Lory was born to the late Alfred and Grace (nee Schmoll) Anderson on September 16, 1943, in Racine, Wisconsin. On November 22, 1969, Lory exchanged vows with the love of her life, Marvin McCray, in the chapel of their cherished home.
Lory worked as a legal secretary at Johnson Wax in Racine. Beyond her career, Lory was a woman of many interests, filling her days with a love for the outdoors and laughter.
Lory had a zest for life that was most evident in her enthusiasm for both gambling and gardening. She found joy in nurturing her garden, where vibrant blooms and lush greenery thrived under her care. Ever the adventurer, she also enjoyed the thrill of a well-played hand, often sharing stories of her favorite casino trips with friends and family.
One of Lory's deepest passions was for horses, a love that led her and her husband, Marvin, to fulfill their shared dream of owning and operating Chapel Hill Arabian Horse Ranch. Together, they cultivated a beautiful haven for horses. Lory's dedication and love for these magnificent creatures were felt by all who knew her, and the ranch became a place where her spirit of warmth and hospitality was always present.
