Lois Ann Avila's Obituary
Union Grove-Lois Ann Avila, 67, entered into rest peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, August 12, 2022.
Lois was born to Bernard and Cardell (nee Sandmire) Tadder on October 4, 1954, in Richland Center, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to Robert Avila on May 13, 1978, in Racine. Lois and Robert shared an unbreakable loving bond. They cherished a 44-year marriage together.
Lois was a devoted Christian and attended Hope City Church in Racine. She was a Bible study teacher for numerous churches in the Racine area for several years. She worked for American Motors-Chrysler for 35 years and also worked for Western Publishing. Lois retired on May 31, 2008. In retirement, Lois enjoyed being an Uber driver along with playing dominoes and cards with her friends. She loved to dance; most weekends, you could find Lois dancing to live music somewhere in Racine. Lois enjoyed rock n roll and country music; Elvis Presley was one of her favorites. She was an avid fan of the Milwaukee Brewers. She loved to camp, travel, and go on cruises with her husband, Robert, and the rest of the family. Lois loved dogs and owned three chihuahuas with Robert. Above all, Lois loved her family with all her heart and cherished every moment with them.
Lois will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Robert; children: Tara (Bill) Joyce, Laura (Christopher) Jocius, Paul Tadder, and Lisa Avila; grandchildren: Michael Jocius, Preston Jocius Gage (Emily) Lueke, Zenda Russo-Tadder, Bella Tadder, and Rhiannon Tadder; great-grandchildren: Eden Lueke, Braelynn Lueke and Jaxon Lueke; brother, Prentiss (Dorthy) Tadder; sister-in-law, Colleen Tadder; along with several other relatives and friends.
Lois is predeceased by her parents, Bernard and Cardell Tadder; siblings: Arliss Tadder, Corliss (Carol) Tadder, and Donald Tadder.
A celebration of Lois’ life will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Holly Anderle officiating. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Racine.
