Linda S. Reske's Obituary
Racine - Linda S. Reske, age 86, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025. Born on December 12, 1938, in Racine, to Arthur Holtz and Nellie Martin, Linda lived a full and vibrant life that spanned across Wisconsin and New York.
A dedicated and hardworking woman, Linda built her career in inventory control, working over a decade each at Young Radiator and Alfa Laval.
Her work ethic was matched only by her love for life’s simple pleasures, most notably, her deep passion for fishing. Known as the “Master Fisher” of Chippewa Falls, she found peace and joy near the water, always eager to cast a line and enjoy nature.
A true Wisconsinite at heart, Linda was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan and loved building puzzles of wildlife. Singing also brought her joy; she was a proud member of the Sweet Adelines Chorus in the 1960s and '70s and often filled her home with the melodies she was rehearsing at the time.
One of her lifelong dreams was to visit Alaska—a dream she finally fulfilled in 2024, thanks to the loving efforts of Missy and Steve. She spent ten unforgettable days cruising through the breathtaking landscapes of Fairbanks, Juneau, and Denali National Park, an adventure that brought her immense happiness.
She will be dearly missed by her children: Harvey (Cindy) Kost Jr., Michael (Nancy) Kost, Melissa (Stephen) Thery, and Susan (Joseph) Worden; her grandchildren: Harvey III, Jennifer, Gina, Gregory, Kevin, Emma, Madeline, Andy, Harry Jr., Chrystal, Kelly, and Erin; her sister, Becky Holtz; and many beloved great-grandchildren, friends in the Chippewa Falls area, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Nellie, and her siblings, Barbara Nelson and Chuck Holtz.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff of Oak Ridge Care Center and Hospice Alliance for their compassion and support during Linda’s final days.
