Lela Deschler's Obituary
Formerly of Racine - Mrs. Lela Mae Deschler, 70, passed away at her home in Montello on Saturday, August 27, 2011.
Lela was born in Racine to Ray and Marna (nee: Christensen) Layton on October 10, 1940. She lived in Racine most of her life. On July 26, 1959 she was united in marriage to Milton Fred Deschler Jr. Together the moved to Montello in 1997.
Mrs. Deschler was proud to have graduated with a GED in 1980 and went on to nursing school to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was employed by Southern Colony and Saint Mary's Hospital. Mrs. Deschler was the bond of her family. She was always there for her family and took great care of her husband. Together they worked on creative country crafts and loved to travel. She was a doting grandmother commonly known as "gg". Lela was an excellent cook, a passionate animal lover and loved to fish.
Lela is survived by her husband, Milton Jr.; three children, Milton III (Michele) Deschler, Kristi (Terry) Peterson and Todd Deschler; six grandchildren, Kristi (Jorge) Delray, Casey (Jered) Litvin, Kari (Charlie) Heinen, Dan Peterson, T.J. and Dylan Deschler; three great grandchildren, Ryder, Travis and Kailey; numerous cousins, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and many beloved aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 10:30 am. Entombment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, August 30, 2011 from 5 until 7 pm and on Wednesday morning from 9:30 am until the time of ceremony.
