Lakeland, FL – Mrs. LaVerne Lois Karner, 84, passed away in Lakeland Florida on Tuesday, March 6, 2012.
LaVerne was born in Racine to the late Earl and Frieda (nee: May Frieda Klingenmeyer) Larsen on July 15, 1927. She had lived in Racine for most of her life until the mid 1980's when she moved to Cape Coral, Florida. In Racine, LaVerne was united in marriage to Albert Netzell in September of 1952. He sadly preceded her in death on July 15, 1958. She then married Ernie Karner, who also preceded her in death.
LaVerne is survived by two children, Sally (John) Conklin and Tim (Colleen) Netzell; four grandchildren, Christopher and Greg Netzell, and Laura (Nathan) Thebarge and Kyle Conklin; two great grandchildren, Miles Netzell and Sophia Thebarge; one great grandson on the way; one brother, Earl (Ruth) Larsen; one sister, Margaret Jacobsen; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Larsen; other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Larsen and one brother-in-law, Art Jacobsen.
A memorial service will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 10 AM Inurnment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 9 AM until 10 AM service time.
