Larry Van Tubbergen's Obituary
Larry Van Tubbergen, age 62, passed away from complications of MSA at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital in Racine, WI on June 1, 2016 with his family by his side.
Larry was born on December 19, 1953 to Harvey and Dorothy (nee:Holmes) Van Tubbergen.
Larry married Kathleen (nee:Sturicz) on September 11, 1976.
Larry worked as a machine repair journeyman at American Motors and Delphi Automotive for 36 years. He retired in September of 2008 from Delphi to pursue his passion for the outdoors. Larry was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader, he lead by example and demonstrated many life lessons as well as talents to his sons. Larry loved being outdoors and in his free time he could be found golfing, hunting, fishing, camping or hiking. He enjoyed riding motorcycles as well.
Larry was known as “Mr. Fix It”, whenever something needed repair, he was the man to fix it.
Larry was a family man, a great father and a devoted husband, married to the love of his life, Kathleen, for 39 years.
Larry is survived by his wife, Kathleen; sons, Nick and Eric Van Tubbergen; mother, Dorothy Van Tubbergen; brother, Wayne Van Tubbergen; sisters, Linda( Mario) Amien, Susan (Ken) Gehri, Nancy (Lee) Otis, Cindy Heyden and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Van Tubbergen.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Wilson Funeral Home at 6:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to meet in the Wilson Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Mayo Clinic for MSA research in Larry’s memory.
