Kristine Annette Johnson's Obituary
Racine – Kristine Annette Johnson (nee Schweigert), 59, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 14, 2024.
Kris was born to Artur and Ruth Schweigert on June 10, 1964, in Milwaukee and spent her life in southeast Wisconsin.
Kris always put family first and had a very close relationship and friendship with her sisters: Beate, Doreen, and Rebecca. They enjoyed traveling, shopping, and celebrating life’s milestones together. Kris was the “awesomest” mom to Ryan. She enjoyed supporting his dreams, spending days at the motocross track and ski hill to cheer him on. Kris was also special “Aunty Mom” to Anna and “Grandma Kris” to Tyler and Tyson. There was no cooler grandma, recently taking a trip to North Pole, AK to see Santa! She had the most spoiled fur-babies EVER, with a special place in her heart for her Doberman Pinschers: Lightning, Thunder, and Luna. You didn’t have to be related to Kris to be considered family. She had a huge heart, welcomed all into her home, and treated them like family. Kris was “Mom” to Troy, Angela, Sam, Nick, Cierra, and so many, many more. There are too many to list, but you know who you are.
“Auntie Kris” also had special relationships with her nieces and nephews, providing love, support, and guidance along the way. The love of Kris’ life was her husband, Dan. They had been together since 1978, spending 45 years as best friends. As small business owners, they worked together and were always ready to spread cheer and happiness to others. They enjoyed the home they’ve built at “The Farm,” raising a wide variety of farm animals.
Kris was always up for an adventure and enjoyed traveling, especially to warm and sandy beaches. She was an exceptionally talented designer. Hands down, her flower and plant arrangements made her patio the best dressed in Racine. Her legendary holiday decorations made family gatherings magical, better than any Hallmark movie! Kris was also an exquisite cook and baker. From classic authentic German family recipes to show-worthy desserts and catering spreads. If Kris was cooking, you wanted to eat! All those blessed to have known Kris know life will never be the same without her. Forever in our hearts.
Kris will be deeply missed by her husband, Daniel Johnson; son, Ryan (Brittany Hayek) Johnson; grandson, Tyler Johnson; sisters: Beate (Mark) Moe, and Doreen Schweigert; sister-in-law, Rebecca (Robert) Remster; brother-in-law, Jonathan (Wendy) Johnson; nieces and nephews: Kristin (Ray Stibeck) Moe, Mitchell Vartanian, Anna Tussler, Joshua (Becca) Ramczyk, Adam Ramczyk, Rachel (Alex) Lopez, Amelia Johnson, Angela D’alie, and Tyson Galvan; great-nephews: Alexander and Aiden Lopez, and Emrys Ramczyk; dear friend, Sarah Schafer; as well as many cousins and friends.
Kris was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur, and Ruth Schweigert; parents-in-law, Gordon and Elizabeth Johnson; and good friend, Michelle Martin.
There will be a celebration of life to honor Kris on March 2, 2024, at Hickory Hall, 5844 Douglas Avenue, Racine, WI, starting at 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Krystalpuff’s Charity, Makes Every Child Smile, mailed or brought to any Community State Bank.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Union Grove Fire and Rescue.
