June Eunice Daft's Obituary
CALEDONIA - June Eunice Daft, age 91, passed away peacefully at her residence on August 16, 2017.
On June 12, 1926, June was born to Peter and Lydia (nee Moore) Gauslin in Menasha, WI. She was united in marriage on June 1, 1946 to Henry “Hank” Daft in Lyons, IL. June worked as a cook and food service manager for Racine Unified School District for 20 years.
June was a faithful member of Racine Bible Church and was involved with the Belle City Senior Center. She enjoyed knitting and was noted for her personalized Christmas socks. June also was known for her delicious pies and other baked goods. She enjoyed tending to her gardens. June also traveled with her husband throughout the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, and also took a trip through Europe.
Left to cherish June’s memory are her sons: Bill (Mary Reiss) Daft and Jim (Jane) Daft; her daughter and son-in-law, Laurie Daft and John Epple; her grandsons: David Daft, Andrew Daft, Eric (fiancée Cas Annis) Daft; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Hank; daughter, Cathy; her parents; and her siblings: Peggy, Fern, Alto, Jack, Marlyn, Carol Lee, Arvella, Florence, Gertrude, and Herbert.
A celebration of June’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Racine Bible Church (2505 Spring St, Sturtevant, WI). A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will take place at Caledonia Memorial Park.
