Julienne "Julie" J. Smith's Obituary
Julie's Journey
Julienne J. Smith (Griese, Nee: Jordan)
Born on April 21, 1931
Welcomed Into Heaven on March 28, 2025
Julie's journey here in this life is done, and now as she walks into the arms of God, she is welcomed home!
Julie’s brother and best friend, Billy Jordan is there to guide her through the heavens and to visit with family and friends who are happily waiting for her.
Julie’s grandparents, Helena and William Jordan and her parents, Alice and Frances Jordan are waiting with her brothers and sisters, LaGene (Norbert) Theisen, Sharon (Walter) Spradau, Majory (Allan) Jahn, Jan Etta (Joseph) Seis, John Jordan, and her brother-in-law, John Gudex. She is so happy to be reunited with all of them once again!
As Billy guides her further on this new journey, waiting beyond the bend is her first husband, Richard J. Griese, and their baby daughter, Julienne Mary Griese. They embrace her and warmly smile at her. She is happy that they have both been here in the arms of God, happy, healthy, and whole.
At the next bend in the road is Julie's second husband, Allan L. Smith. He is waiting for her and welcomes her into God's House. He is strong and healthy once again. How wonderful that she had two men who loved her and built a life and a family with her.
Julie's life was rich and full. She always worked outside the home, sometimes taking on two jobs to make ends meet. That was an extraordinary accomplishment for a wife and mother in those days. She was employed as an executive secretary and retired from Jacobsen's Manufacturing Company after 36 years of dedicated service.
Julie was a devout Catholic and has been a member of St. Lucy's Parish for 57 years.
Julie raised her six children and had to endure the sorrow of burying a baby daughter. She also experienced the heartache of watching both of her husbands pass away from sickness and being left alone with her children.
But God sees to it that our lives are balanced. She experienced heartache and sorrow, but she also experienced happiness, joy, and love!
Some of us will have to stay behind for now and be happy for her that she is finally home.
Julie will be missed by her children: Susan (Karlo) Koleta, Lynn (Linda) Clifton, Carol (John) Mohr, James (Laurie Blackowicz) Griese, Joan (Doug) Jaeger, and Lawrence (Kristen Harris) Smith; sister, LuAnn Gudex; sisters-in-law: Florence Jordan and Judy Manthey Jordan Geib; and brother-in-law, Joseph Seis. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Julie's family and friends will gather together to say goodbye and wish her eternal happiness during a celebration of life at Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, April 4, 2025, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery – Hwy 32 at 2:00 p.m.
Julie asked that a special “thank you” be stated here to Mr. Juan Rodriguez for always being there for her throughout the years. He has always held a special place in her heart.
