Judith "Judy" Ann Corroo's Obituary
Racine - Judith "Judy" Ann Corroo, 85, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Judy was born on April 13, 1938, to the late Maurice and Edith (nee Schnetter) Quamme in Racine. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, James "Jim" Corroo, on September 21, 1957, at St. John Nepomuk Church also in Racine. Together, they shared a bond that stood the test of time, enriching each other's lives with love and devotion for almost six decades. Jim preceded Judy in death on August 28, 2015.
In her younger years, Judy found joy in horseback riding and swimming. As a child, she cherished her summers spent at Washington Island in Door County, Wisconsin, creating cherished memories with her family. Though she briefly resided in Arizona in 1971, her heart always belonged to Wisconsin, where she returned after two years. Judy was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, known for her unwavering support and could often be found cheering them on during game days.
Above all else, Judy was a dedicated and loving matriarch. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who never missed an opportunity to celebrate the milestones and achievements of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her presence at family gatherings was always a source of joy and comfort, her radiant and positive personality lighting up every room she entered. Judy had a kind and gentle soul, her love extending not only to her family but also to animals, especially her beloved dogs. She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life and cherished the moments spent with those she held dear.
Though Judy has left this world, her legacy of love, kindness, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
Judy will be deeply missed by her children: Kelly (Gino) Modesti and Jamie Corroo; honorary daughter, Teresa Calliari (Bob Huck); grandchildren: Karly (Jason) Rodriguez, Tony (Natalie) Corroo, and Michael (Kerah) Modesti; great-grandchildren: Caroline “CC”, Alayna, and Kaiden Rodriguez, with two on the way due March 2024: Shia Modesti and Sienna Corroo; daughter-in-law, Debbie (Tim) Doyle; sister-in-law, Kitty Corroo; cousin close at heart, Carole Bahr; special family, Rose Ann (Bye) Zickus and Kathy (Pat) Neis; and special friend, Minne Modesti.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Corroo; son, Michael Corroo; brother, David Quamme; special friend, Toni McNutt; and honorary son, Kurt Lorenzini.
A celebration of Judy's life will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 6:00 PM. with Majors Geffory and Leti Crowell of Salvation Army officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 PM until the time of service. Private inurnment will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin.
