Judith "Judy" Ann Berthlein's Obituary
Racine - Judith “Judy” Ann Berthlein, 82, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Ascension All Saints Hospital in Racine.
Judy was born to the late James and Helen (nee Wischnewsky) Kerr on November 7, 1941, in Racine. She was united in marriage to Dale Berthlein on April 15, 2000, also in Racine. Judy retired after many years of service with Racine Medical Clinic and David Insurance Agency.
Judy was a cherished member of the Racine Harbor Lite Yacht Club and the Racine Curling Club. Her vibrant spirit and love for life touched everyone she met. Born with a passion for adventure, Judy enjoyed a life filled with diverse interests and hobbies. She found joy in reading, writing poetry, golfing, boating, camping, and traveling. Her most treasured moments, however, were those spent with her family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Judy was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. She and her husband, Dale, could often be found cheering on the Badgers football team and the hockey team. Among Judy's many passions was her enthusiasm for the Indy 500 race. She would attend the race quite often. Her excitement for the event was infectious, and she delighted in the thrill of the race.
Judy will be deeply missed by her handsome, loving husband and amazing caregiver, Dale Berthlein; her children: Cathy (Ron) Thick, Jeff Smith, Caren (Joe) Larrabee, and Camille Fletcher; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, David Kerr; sister-in-law, Sue (Jim) Brandtjen; mother-in-law, Joyce Berthlein; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Donald Sorenson; son-in-law, Carl Fletcher; father-in-law, Carl Berthlein; and nephew, Kyle Brandtjen.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 3:00 PM. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
