Juanita Jaramillo's Obituary
Juanita Jaramillo (née Martinez), a woman known for her sharp wit and sparkling personality, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 16, 2025, at the age of 77.
Born in Crystal City, Texas, Juanita lived a life full of love, laughter, and enough sass to keep everyone on their toes.
She married her beloved husband, Juan Jaramillo, on May 9, 1969, and together they built a family rooted in love, care, and plenty of good food. Juanita’s cooking - especially her rice, beans, and always-ready tortillas - was legendary, and she made sure her grandchildren had a full belly.
Juanita’s family was the center of her world. She is survived by her children: Virginia (Steve), Yesenia (Javier), Leticia, Juan Jose (Dallas), and Jesse Morones; grandchildren: Javier Adrian, Taliah (Joey), Divina (Antonio), Jacob S., Juan Diego (Elizabeth), Anali Maya, Joseph E., Julian Nahbor, Natalia E., Judah Cano, Jaydon D, Jaleyna N. (Jose), Jesse Ricardo, and Eliana M.; along with nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Frankie Martinez, Olga Rico, and Manuel Martinez, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, including her dear nieces, Juanita Rodriguez and Rebeca Martinez. She was preceded in death by her son, Julio Jaramillo.
Known for her protective nature, Juanita never shied away from standing up for her loved ones. She loved to dance, enjoyed a drink, and cherished sentimental moments, all while keeping everyone laughing with her humor and sharp tongue.
A celebration of Juanita’s life will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, with Deacon Roberto Fuentes of Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church presiding. She will be laid to rest privately at Calvary Cemetery.
Juanita’s family takes comfort in knowing that her love, laughter, and lessons will continue to shine in all who knew her. She may have left this world, but her spark will never fade.
