Juan L. Rodriguez's Obituary
Juan L. Rodriguez, age 65, was surrounded by his family at his residence in Racine, WI when he entered the Kingdom of Heaven on November 1, 2017.
On September 5, 1952, Juan was born to Tomas A. Gonzalez and Maria Teresa Yriarte in Cotulla, TX. Juan was adopted by Christino and Felecita Rodriguez. He was united in marriage to Elvia Lozano on April 30, 1973, in Cotulla, TX. Juan worked at Badger Meter for 17 years.
Juan enjoyed living life, he lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, playing darts, and riding his motorcycle. He loved to dance, cook and grill out, listen to Tejano music, and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Juan was always on the move; he loved to travel and drive. He also enjoyed going to the casino and buying lottery tickets. Old Westerns were his favorite kind of movies, and he was an excellent handyman. Most of all, Juan loved spending time with his great nieces and nephews as well as the rest of his family.
Left to cherish Juan’s memory are his wife, Elvia L. Rodriguez; sons: Juan (Andrew) Metz-Rodriguez Jr. and Florentino Rodriguez; daughter, Rachel (Justin) Noel; nephew, Guadalupe Jesus Bermea; other special nieces and nephews: Mariah, Savannah, Madison, Bella and William as well as many other nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; sisters: Angelina (Eloy) Cedillo and Irene (Frederico) Hernandez-Campos; brother, Robert Yriarte; sister-in-laws: Ana Hernandez, Berta (Jerry) Gomez, and Norma (Jimmie) Mayfield; step-mother, Silvia Gonzalez; step-brother, Henry (Emma) Cruz, and many other relatives and friends.
Juan was preceded in death by his birth parents, Tomas Gonzalez and Maria Yriarte; adoptive parents, Christino and Felecita Rodriguez; daughter, Robyn Nicole Rodriguez; brother, Joe Hernandez; and sister, Eva Bermea
The family will receive visitors at Wilson Funeral Home (1212 Lathrop Ave.) on Monday, November 6, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at St. Lucy Catholic Church (3101 Drexel Ave.) from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at St. Lucy Catholic Church (3101 Drexel Ave.). Interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Aurora Cancer Clinic, Dr. Mullane, and special nurses, Lisa and Wendy, as well as the rest of the staff for their compassionate care of Juan.
