Joyce Elaine Joslyn's Obituary
Racine – Joyce E. Joslyn, 97, passed away peacefully in her home on November 25, 2012.
Joyce was born in Fond du Lac to Allen W. and Ella May (nee: Harnois) Joslyn on November 28, 1914. She lived in Racine for most of her life.
Joyce graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She was a teacher with Racine Unified School District for 10 years and was an editor for Western Publishing Company for 20 years.
Joyce was a long-time member of Christ United Methodist Church, Hoy Nature Club, Woman's Forum and the American Association of University Women (AAUW). Joyce enjoyed playing the piano and was well traveled. She made many trips to Guatemala to fulfill her hobby of bird watching.
Joyce is survived by two cousins, Anna Joslyn and Less Christopherson; and special friends, Ellie (Kenneth) Lahr. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Joslyn in 1999.
Funeral services in honor of Joyce will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 5109 Washington Avenue, on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 10 am. Visitation will be from 9 am until the time of service. Per Joyce's wishes, private interment will be at Rienzi Cemetery in Fond du Lac. Memorial may be directed to Christ United Methodist Church, Hoy Nature Club or the Racine Public Library.
