Josephine was employed by J.I. Case for 28 years in a position she thoroughly enjoyed. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection and participated in several women’s groups. Josephine embraced life, was an excellent cook, and was always thankful and positive. She will be deeply missed by her family.
Josephine is survived by her beloved daughters: Joann Haas of Racine and Laurie (Thomas) Zwolinski of Arlington Heights, IL; adoring grandchildren: Scott Zwolinski of Rolling Meadows, IL and Katharine Zwolinski of Bloomington, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews, and other dear friends.
Josephine is preceded in death by her parents, John and Rena Johnson; brothers: Melvin and Edwin Johnson; and her husband, Lawrence Thorson.
Services for Josephine will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection with Janice Navarro officiating. A time of visitation will take place from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. A private interment will be held at a later date at West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the National MS Society (P.O. Box 4594, New York, New York, 10163-4594).
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sylvia Vanderleest for making their mother’s transition peaceful, Don and Margaret Klopp for their visits, and Janice Navarro for her grace and kindness.
