Josephine Pflieger's Obituary
Josephine Pflieger passed away on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007 at Ruth Hospice in West Allis, WI. She was born in Cherry, Il on Dec. 12, 1921 to the late Joseph and Anna (nee: Gaziano) Graceffa. She lived in Cherry till the age of 8 years, lived in Racine for 75 years and in Greendale since 2006. She was united in marriage to Henry Pflieger in Racine on Oct. 9, 1948. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1999.
She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. She enjoyed her gambling trips, and was an avid card player. Most importantly she loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family.
She is survived by three children, Paul (Kathleen) Pflieger of Racine, Kathryn (Brian) Thompson of Greendale, Linda (Steven) Burr of Greenfield; seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Chris) Janus of Racine, Kyle Pflieger of Racine, Nicholas Pflieger of Madison, Scott Thompson of Greendale, Sarah Jo Thompson of Greendale, Jason Burr and fianc?, Kristin Kiemen of Greenfield, Andrew Burr of Greenfield; four great-grandchildren, Jacoby and Carter Janus, Zachary Burr and Hunter Burr; two brothers and four sisters-in-law, Sam (Yolanda) Graceffa, Joseph (Dorothy) Graceffa, Grace Graceffa, all of Racine, Grace Graceffa of Park Falls; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Rose Dacquisto, Angie (Ralph) Banks, Grace Liefbroer, all of Racine, Leonard Pflieger of Milwaukee; and lifelong friend, Loretta Wahlen of Racine. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Russ Graceffa, Carlo Graceffa, Agnes Pflieger, Irene Graceffa; one sister and three brothers-in-law, Sarah (Ezio) Tempesta, Fred Dacquisto, Donald Liefbroer, two brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Walter Pflieger, George and Alice Pflieger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church 1425 Grove Ave on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Richard Molter officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Hwy 32. Friends may meet with the family at the Wilson Funeral Home 1212 Lathrop Ave. on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
