John Horvath's Obituary
Mr. Horvath, 92, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare/All Saints. He was born in Ethel, W. Virginia On May 4, 1916 to the late John and Anne (nee: Vereb) Horvath. He lived most of his life in Racine. He was united in marriage to the former Shirley Clickner in Racine on April 4, 1964.
He was employed at Twin Disc as a Supervisor for 38 years retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Nichols Episcopal Church, Twin Disc 20 year Club, an avid bowler, played softball in Racine for many years. He enjoyed going to his cottage in the U.P. of Michigan, where he loved to hunt and fish.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Horvath; his children, John Horvath, Judy (Frank) Sztukowski, Jill (Gerald) Anderson, JoAnne (Clayton) King, stepson; James Lobner; ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anne Novak, Rose Christiansen; one brother, James (Rose) Horvath, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive. One sister, Mary Gladyes, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home 1212 Lathrop Ave., on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 11a.m. with Fr. David Miracle officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
