John Gertenbach's Obituary
Mr. Gertenbach, 89, passed away at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center on Friday, Oct. 5, 2007. He was born in Racine on Sept. 21, 1918 to the late Oswald and Louise (nee: Clausen) Gertenbach. He lived all of his life in Racine.
He served in the United States Army during World War II, where he was stationed in India. He started working for Heinrich Tool in 1942 and retiring in 1997 as Vice-President. John always had a wonderful smile and spirit with a great joy towards life and people. He enjoyed singing with the Racine Barber Shop, gardening and traveling.
He is survived by extended family and many friends.
In accordance with John's wishes there will be no funeral service. Burial will be held at Mound Cemetery.
Memorials in memory of Mr. Gertenbach to Racine Arts Council or Racine Symphony have been suggested.
