John Paul Ballard's Obituary
Racine – John Paul Ballard, age 53, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
John was born in Racine on June 11, 1972, to Paul and Delores (née Beauchamp) Ballard and was a lifelong resident of the community. He was the proud owner and operator of his own moving company, Two Can Do It, and took great pride in building his business from the ground up.
John had a wide range of interests that brought him joy. He loved spending time at North Beach, attending car shows, motorcycles, fishing, and traveling. Summerfest was one of his favorite events of the year, and he never passed up the opportunity to go out to eat and try something new. Known for his quick wit and signature dad jokes, John always found a way to make those around him laugh.
More than anything, John loved his children and grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them.
John will be deeply missed by his children: Kevin A. Ballard and Miranda M. Gattshall (Joshua); stepchildren: Andrew May (Britani) and Izzy May-Jung (Jason Jung); and grandchildren: Addilynn Gattshall, Lorelai Gattshall, Aiden May, and Leila May. He is further survived by his siblings: Larry Ballard (Sherry), Melvin Ballard (Jennifer), Neil Barboff, Suzanne Kraus (Robert), Lorrie Barboff, and Rodney Hetchler (Jackie); as well as many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Paul and Sharon Ballard; his mother, Delores Ballard; his brother, Bryan Ballard; stepbrother, Jeff DuVall; and niece, Jessica Barboff Paredes; and his bestest pal, Bolt.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date.
