Mrs. Sajdik, 72, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006. She was born in Racine on Nov. 29, 1933 to the late Gilbert E. and Kathryn (nee: Nelson) Hansen. She lived most of her life in Racine. She was united in marriage to Ferdinand Sajdik in Racine on April 12, 1985.
She was employed at St. Luke's Hospital for about 28 years retiring as a patient registration supervisor. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed her Avon business for 33 years, loved her singing and had a deep appreciation for all types of music.
Mrs. Sajdik is survived by her husband, Ferdinand (Fred) Sajdik; her children, Brian Downes of Chicago, IL, Ann Kathryn (Rick) Ruch of Houston, TX., Terrence (Jeanette) Downes of Racine, Susan (Stacy) Gilhart of Vernon Hills, IL, Phillip (Lisa) Downes of Richmond, IL, Frances Wright of Thompsonville, IL, Barbara (Larry) Litz of Racine, Mary (Paul) Schinkowitch of Racine, fifteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Beth Birch and Barbara (Robert) Tracy, several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Rory Geyer, son-in-law, Howard Wright, brother-in-law, Jay Birch and stepson Lawrence P. Sajdik, Sr.
A memorial service will be held at Second Presbyterian Church 1400 Kingston Ave, on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Donald Clarke officiating. Private inurnment services for the family will be held at a later date at Southeastern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove. Friends may meet with the family at Second Presbyterian Church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
