Jeanine Marie Kopecky 's Obituary
RACINE—Jeanine Marie Kopecky passed away peacefully Saturday, June 14, 2014.
Jeanine was born February 20, 1932 to the late Clifford and Marie (nee: Rosendahl) Stuhr of Onalaska, WI. Jeanine was married to the love of her life Charles ‘Jerry’ Kopecky in LaCrosse on August 27, 1955.
Jeanine was a member of Second Presbyterian Church for many years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #249 in Onalaska and the Order of the Eastern Star Ruth #23 in LaCrosse. She proudly earned her lifetime teaching certificate from the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse. Jeanine was a talented musician and loved to play the piano. In recent years, she had a profound interest in family history. Jeanine loved her dog, Buddy, with all her heart. He was her companion for the past ten years.
Jeanine is survived by her four children, Stephen Kopecky of Averill Park, NY, Gail Webster of Woodstock, IL, James (Stacy) Kopecky and Jane (James) Herrin all of Racine; five grandchildren, Lorean (Greg) Von Ebers, Dana (James) Adkins, Michael and David Kopecky, and Mitchell Herrin; and three great grandchildren with one on the way. Jeanine is also survived by a loving sister-in-law, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends, and Buddy, her loving dog. Jeanine was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents, Clifford and Marie Stuhr; brother, John Stuhr; and son-in-law, Paul Webster.
Funeral services for Jeanine will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, June 20, at 10 am with Pastor Alan McCalister officiating. Friends and relatives will meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday, June 19, from 5 to 8 pm, and also on Friday, June 20, from 9:30 am until the time of service. Private committal services will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
