Janice Rae Wassil's Obituary
Janice Rae Wassil, 75, of Racine, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025. She was born on March 26, 1950, in Kenosha, to the late Raymond and Lucille (née Kramer) Geschke.
Janice was united in marriage to the love of her life, Stephen Wassil in Las Vegas. They spent many wonderful years together before his passing in 1998. Their life together was filled with laughter, devotion, and cherished memories. She found her greatest joy in her family, her beloved bird Gizmo, and summers spent at Brown’s Lake with Stephen and her boys.
A proud Racine native at heart, Janice loved everything about her hometown—from enjoying a good kringle to savoring meals from Wells Brothers. She had a warm spirit and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures of life.
Janice will be deeply missed by her son from her first marriage to Bruce, Ryan (Suzana) Zamecnik; her stepson, Kurt (Jennifer) Wassil; her granddaughters, Savannah (Noah) Smith and Aleksandra Zamecnik; her sisters, Susan (Glenn) Natiello and Deanna Geschke; as well as her nephew, David, and his family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stephen Wassil and her parents.
The family would like to give a special thank you to those who helped care for her at home, and at Pleasant Point.
A visitation will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. to 6 P.M., with a service to follow.
