Janet Marguerite Walker's Obituary
Racine – Janet Marguerite Walker, 87, went peacefully to meet her Lord and Savior at Azura Memory Care in Kenosha on March 20, 2019
Janet was born in Portland, OR on February 26, 1932 to the late Henry Cyril and Margaret Francelia (nee Konz) LeDuc. She moved at an early age to Mankato, MN where she grew up. Janet graduated from Good Council Academy. She learned to fly an airplane at the age of 18.
Janet was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church and attended mass regularly. Janet was active in drum corps and met her former husband there. She was a devoted, loving Mother. Janet enjoyed time as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. Janet was an avid antique collector and had many beautiful pieces of furniture over the years. She also had a passion for sewing and made many clothes for her children. Janet liked to play cards, most recently playing in many bridge circles.
Above all, Janet was happiest around her family and her fur babies. She cherished her family vacations and the memories she made at family reunions. Janet’s laugh and smile were so infectious; soon you’d be laughing along with her.
Janet will be dearly missed by her children: James W. (Gina) Walker, Kathryn A. Lashley, Patricia A. Walker-Gall; grandchildren: Clint R. (Nikki) Lashley, Meghan Lashley (Justin); sister and brother: Lorraine (Dave) Kolling and John LeDuc; sister-in-law, Dorothy B. LeDuc; many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Walker; brother and sister: H. Cyril LeDuc, Jr., and Donna M. Brennan; brother-in-law, Ted Brennan; sister-in-law, Anita M. LeDuc; and son-in-law, Ray D. Lashley
A private celebration will be held. Janet’s final resting place will be at West Lawn Memorial Park.
A special “thank you” to Azura Memory Care and Hometown Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Janet and her family.
