James Gayhart's Obituary
Mr. Gayhart, 66, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare/All Saints on Wednesday, April 23, 2008. He was born in Kenosha on Aug. 24, 1941 to the late Everett and Lily (nee: Andersen) Gayhart. He lived most of his life in Racine. He was united in marriage to the former Judy Petersen in Racine at Gethsemane Lutheran Church on April 16, 1966.
He was employed by the United States Postal Service for 31 years retiring in 1995. He was a very active and lifelong member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church and a member of the church council, active in the Racine Boy Scouts for 31 years, currently the committee chairman of Troop 199, of St. Andrews Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Gayhart, three sons, Christopher, Erik and Chad Gayhart, two brothers, Jeff (Barb), Dale (Shirley) Gayhart, sister-in-law; Marianne Gayhart, brother-in-law Ronald Hansen, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends also survive. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Gayhart and a sister Judy Gayhart.
Funeral services will be held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church 3319 Washington Ave., on Monday, April 28, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Michael Zolnosky officiating. Interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may meet with the family at the Wilson Funeral Home 1212 Lathrop Ave. on Sunday evening, April 27, 2008 from 4-7 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
