Jacob Mueller,'s Obituary
Racine - Mr. Jacob Mueller Jr., 94, died at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare on Tuesday morning, September 12, 2006.
Jacob was born in Racine to the late Jacob Sr. and Elizabeth (nee: Kah) Mueller on November 8, 1911. He was united in marriage to Mildred Rose Baumler in Cudahy on April 7, 1934. They were married for 71 years. She preceded him in death on April 24, 2005.
Jake joined Racine Carpenters Local 161 in 1946 retiring in 1976. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, serving on the building committee and church council. Jake enjoyed gardening, playing cards and volunteering in the coffee shop and Meal On Wheels for Lincoln Lutheran of Racine. He enjoyed "doing small carpentry jobs" for friends and the elderly. Jake was loved by all who knew him. "Just pay me for my gas".
Jake leaves behind three daughters and son-in-laws Donna (George) Rykal, Carole (Arnold) Fickau, and Nancy (Peter) McGow; his grandchildren Jeff (Susan) Klaus, Lynda (Jeff) Berard, Sue (Ron) Sullivan, Christopher (Lisa) Fickau, Sheryl (Derek) Watkins, Michael (Jennifer) Kull, and Jared Jozwik; his great grandchildren Joe and Jessica Klaus, Trevor, Krysta, and Rebecca Berard, Taylor and Ashley Sullivan, Kayden Jozwik, Jamie and Jenna Watkins, Ethan, Elaine, and Evyn Fickau, and Benjamin and Bailey Kull; and his brother and sister-in-law, John (Pat) Mueller. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Eva Schiestle and Elizabeth Mueller; his brother, Peter Mueller; and many dear relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church corner of Highway 31 and 16th street, on Saturday morning, September 16, 2006 at 10 am with Pastors Stephen Samuelson and Kara Baylor officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church Saturday morning from 8:45 until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church or to one's favorite charity.
