Irmgard Dinda's Obituary
Irmgard (nee Winkler) Dinda passed away at Ascension All Saints Hospital on November 15, 2016.
Irmgard was born in Germany on February 19, 1934. She was united in marriage to Gerhard Dinda on June 15, 1957.
Irmgard spent most of her married life in Racine, also spending 13 years in Florida. Irmgard and Gerhard recently moved back to Racine to be close to family. She retired at age 62 spending the last 25 years working as a daycare teacher. Once she retired, they were active in their church in Florida. She knitted blankets, socks, hats, and mittens for kids and Veterans. Together, Irmgard and Gerhard enjoyed working at the Salvation Army helping to collect food and serve meals, especially during the holidays. Irmgard loved children, and she enjoyed cooking and baking. Most of all, she loved helping and being there for the grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, Gerhard; her sons, Gerald (wife, Sonya) and Ernie; granddaughter, Elizabeth (husband, Ryan) granddaughter Emily, great-granddaughter, Lilly; daughters-in-law, Karin and many nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolf and Hulda Guenther and sister, Lilly.
Funeral services for Irmgard will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, November 18 from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service. A private burial will be held at Graceland Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Salvation Army of Racine.
