Hugh Franklin Wilson's Obituary
Sturtevant – Hugh Franklin Wilson Sr., 86, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the Villa at Lincoln Park.
Hugh was born in Masontown, PA to the late Lindsey and Dorothy (nee Thomas) Wilson on July 7, 1935. Starting at the age of 17, he served in the United States Air Force, overseas in France for four years. When Hugh returned home, he met his neighbor, Carol Warman on his birthday in 1961; it was love at first sight. Seven months later in Cumberland, MD, they were united in marriage on September 29, 1961. Shortly after, they moved to Racine. He was employed by Racine Steel Casting Company for 39 years from 1959 until retiring in 1998.
Hugh enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. He would sit outside on his front porch to feed the squirrels and people watch. He was interested in fast cars, i.e., GTO, Mustang, and Camaro, to name a few. Hugh was humorous and liked to be a prankster. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, appreciated his wife’s cooking and her desserts, and adored his three Bichon Frise: Buddy, Bella, and Eli.
Hugh will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Carol; children: Tammy (Bill) Bronson and Hugh (Lisa) Wilson Jr.; grandchildren: Crystal (Paul) DeHart, Melissa (Bret) Bosworth, Brandon Wilson (Kate Beardmore), Eric (Cassandra) Bronson, Brittany (Ryan) Schuk, and Brad Wilson; 11 great grandchildren; brother, John (Jeanie) Wilson; sister, Phyllis Wilson; sisters-in-law: Ann, Jill, and Edna Wilson; brother-n-law, Robert Ritenour; nephew, Erwin (Sharon) Shipley; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Lindsey, Ronald, and Norman Wilson and sisters: Thelma (Wayne) Shipley, Gertrude Ritenour, and Mildred Wilson.
A celebration of Hugh’s life will begin with a visitation at the Wilson Funeral Home on Tuesday morning, February 22, 2022, at 8:30 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM.
