Howard Driver's Obituary
Mr. Driver, 85, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Alexian Healthcare Center. He was born in Belleville, IL on Feb. 25, 1922 to the late Wesley and Adeline (nee: Large) Driver. He lived in Racine for over 50 years. He was united in marriage to the former Helen Hay in Raymond Township, Racine, Co. on June 30, 1945. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was stationed at the Naval Research Lab in Washington D.C.
He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the College of Engineering, Class of 1948.
He was employed at John Oster Manufacturing, Gateway Technical College and retired from Western Publishing in 1980. He was a former member of the Racine Elks Club and Amateur Radio Club.
He is survived by his wife; Helen J. Driver, children, Lynn (Rick) Handler, Nancy Wilbert, three grandchildren, Elizabeth and Kathryn Handler, Jessica Wilbert, one brother, LaVern (Ann) Driver, brother-in-law, Richard (Doris) Hay, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home 1212 Lathrop Ave., on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Carly Kuntz officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service.
