Helen Blodgett's Obituary
RACINE - Mrs. Helen V. Blodgett (nee: Ruszczyk), 92, passed away at Ridgewood Health and Rehabilitation Center early Sunday morning on November 26, 2006.
Mrs. Blodgett was born in Racine on April 10, 1914 to the late Frank and Theophia (nee: Dryzgula) Ruszczyk. She was united in marriage to Howard A. Blodgett in St. Edward's Catholic Church on October 23, 1934 and he preceded her in death on April 7, 1977. She moved to Florida in 1976 and returned to Racine in 1996.
Helen had worked at Nelson's Variety Store in West Racine for many years. She was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church.
Mrs. Blodgett is survived by her two children, Robert (Helyn) Blodgett and Barbara (Charles) Feehrer all of Racine; seven grandchildren, Deborah (Douglas) Haas, Thomas (Lynne) Blodgett, Todd Blodgett, Annmarie (Jay) Bertermann, Susan (Steve) Vanderheyden all of Racine, Michael (Doreen) Feehrer of Parkville, Missouri, and Jonathon Feehrer of Marshfield; 14 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Helen was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Edward's Catholic Church, corners of Grove and Wright Avenues, on Thursday morning, November 30, 2006 at 11 am with Fr. Allen Bratkowski celebrating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Thursday morning from 10 am until the time of Mass. Memorials to St. Edward's Catholic Church have been suggested.
Mrs. Blodgett's family would like to give a very special thank you to the staff of St. Monica's Senior Citizen Home for their loving care and compassion during their mother's time with them.
